Who is IVF Treatment Applied to?

In vitro fertilization treatment is an assisted reproductive method applied to couples who have various reproductive problems and have difficulty conceiving a child naturally. In vitro fertilization treatment is generally applied to the following groups:

  1. People with a genetic disease or disorder: Couples who have reproductive problems caused by genetic diseases can be transferred to healthy embryos by genetic examinations and embryo selection with IVF treatment.

  2. Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or other ovarian problems: Conditions that affect ovarian function, such as PCOS, can cause ovulation problems and infertility. IVF treatment can help overcome these problems by following the ovums, fertilizing them at the appropriate time and transferring them to the uterus.

  3. Patients with closed fallopian tubes or lost their function: In cases where the tubes are blocked or have lost their function as a result of surgical intervention, the chance of pregnancy is provided by creating fertilized ovums in the laboratory environment and transferring them to the uterus.

  4. Patients with hormonal irregularities: Hormone imbalances can lead to ovulation irregularity and infertility. IVF treatment can offer couples a chance of pregnancy by regulating hormones and controlling the ovulation process.

  5. Patients with sperm count and motility problems: In cases where sperm count or motility is low in men, sperm samples are collected and embryos are created by fertilizing them with ovums in the laboratory environment. These embryos are transferred to the uterus to achieve pregnancy.

  6. Patients with myomatous uteria: Benign tumors in the uterus called fibroids can affect the normal functionality of the uterus. IVF treatment can help patients who have difficulty conceiving naturally due to fibroids.

  7. Unexplained cause of infertility: If the cause of infertility cannot be explained as a result of the medical evaluations of the couples, IVF treatment is often offered as an option. In this case, IVF treatment can be tried to increase the couple's chances of conceiving naturally.

IVF treatment is a medical process, and since each couple's situation is different, the treatment plan is arranged individually. The meticulous work of the expert medical team and the cooperation of the couple contribute to the successful progress of the treatment process.
